Tutorial Eight: Assistive technology

Assistive technology can be defined as "any item, piece of equipment or product sytem where acquired commercially off the shelf, modified, or customized that is used to increase or improve the functional capabilities of individuals with disabilities." (Cook and Hussey, 1995)

Go Talk 20+ board reads out voice messages and replays them to the client. They are $500 and a bit larger than a A4 piece of paper. They help clients to remeber certain things, such as recipes, and they also help clients to sequence tasks. It requires two AA batteries.
