Information technology (IT) can be defined as technology that displays, stores and transmit information. IT is common in most settings. It is present in education insitutes, in the work place, in most peoples homes etc. Technology has become a normal part of society. I feel comfortable with using the computer as I have to use this peice of tecchnology regulary.
IT is used in Occupational therapy practice for writing reports, writing notes, for typing up intervention plans, for referrals and discharge forms.
There are ethical implications that may arise from the capturing, sharing and transferring or infromation via IT devices. Such as, the information may be personal or private. If this information gets out the provacy act will be breeched.
Computer ethics can be defined as " a set of moral principles taht regulate the use of computers".
